On Friday, the German underwent an operation in Vail, Colorado, where Dr. Marc J. Philippon performed surgery on the tennis pro's right hip. Tommy Haas: "I had to have the operation now. The pain was simply too great." What does the operation mean for the future career of Haas, whose last appearance was in Delray Beach in late February? His agent Lars Schriewer: "Tommy has been operated upon by the best medical doctor in this field. He is in the best of hands. Every thing else remains to be seen." 02-23-2010 | Early out in Delray Beach Yet again Tommy Haas had to retire early at the Delray Beach ATP tournament and dropped out after the first round only. The first seeded tournament winner of 2006 lost 6-7 (3), 5-7 to the Russian Teimuras Gabaschwili. "He was there at the right time with a couple of brilliant hits", the German praised his opponent. "There were several opportunities, but somehow I just couldn't make the points, that would have turned the match around for me", Haas admitted after the match. 02-18-2010 | Short guest performance in Memphis This year Tommy Haas dropped out of the ATP tournament in Memphis after the first round already. The German-American lost the kick-off match against his good Belgian friend Xavier Malisse in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 4-6. Previously, the German from Hamburg had been very successful at the Morgan Keegan Championships where managed to win three times (1999, 2006 and 2007). 02-11-2010 | Lucky in love, unlucky at cards This year's SAP Open are already over for Tommy Haas.
